LAWRENCE, Kan. - Kansas scored 40 seconds into the second overtime session to earn a 1-0 win over the Mizzou soccer team Sunday afternoon in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Lawrence, Kan. The game was close throughout but the Jayhawks struck on a close-range shot to end the Tigers season.Mizzou finished 11-7-2 on the season, while Kansas improved to 11-5-4.After 100 minutes of scoreless soccer, the Jayhawks used a five-yard strike from Lois Heuchan only 40 seconds into the double overtime to give the home team the win. The ball was crossed across the goal to Heuchan, who calmly beat Mizzou sophomore keeper Kelsey Dossey (Plainfield, Ind.) to the right netting.The contest was evenly matched, with Kansas owning a 17-14 edge in shots and both teams committing eight fouls.
