CLEVELAND -- The Oakland Athletics couldnt contain a power surge by the Indians on Saturday.Starter Dillon Overton allowed three of Clevelands four home runs on the night, as Oakland fell to Cleveland, 6-3.Overton (1-2), who was recalled from Triple-A Nashville before the game, allowed five runs and 10 hits in just 3 1/3 innings, while giving up solo homers to Jason Kipnis, Jose Ramirez and Abraham Almonte. The start was just his fourth of the season for the Athletics. The 24-year-old allowed only three homers over 103 2/3 innings in Triple-A, but has given up six homers in 15 innings with Oakland.Manager Bob Melvin believes the difference involves major league hitters taking advantage of Overtons lack of location.Hes getting a lot of the middle of the plate, Melvin said. They were getting good swings on him.Liam Hendriks allowed Clevelands fourth home run of the game -- a two-run shot to Mike Napoli later in the fourth.Billy Butler clubbed a solo homer off Indians starter Josh Tomlin in the fourth, following some chatter with Cleveland catcher Chris Gimenez. The two exchanged words following a pitch with two outs, before plate umpire Tripp Gibson separated them.On the next pitch, Butler belted a drive that traveled an estimated 440 feet. The designated hitter followed with a bat flip, which began a shouting match between the two players. Gibson stood beside Gimenez as Butler rounded the bases and then issued warnings to both dugouts. Its just tempers flaring, Butler said. It was just a professional disagreement. It all worked itself out.Butler was loudly booed in his next two at-bats and explained that the incident with Gimenez began over a disagreement involving the strike zone.I thought the he mightve just been asking for a little too much, Butler said. I had an issue with him. He took a little bit of an issue with me, we got it out of the way.Oaklands only other run off Tomlin came in the first, when Danny Valencia smacked a two-out RBI single to give the Athletics a 1-0 lead.Marcus Semien added a solo homer- his 22nd of the season- with two outs in the ninth off closer Cody Allen.Reliever Zach Neal, who entered the game with a 6.00 ERA, pitched three scoreless innings to finish the game for Oakland, allowing just one hit.TRADE TIMEOutfielder Billy Burns was traded from Oakland to the Kansas City Royals for outfield prospect Brett Eibner prior to Saturdays game.Burns hit .234 with 12 RBI in 73 games with Oakland this season, while Eisner batted .231 with three homers and 10 RBI in 26 games for the Royals.TRAINERS ROOMAthletics: LHP Rich Hill was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a blister on the middle finger of his pitching hand, a move retroactive to July 20. The selection of Nassau Events Center, LLC over The Madison Square Garden Co. for the US$229 million job was announced by County Executive Edward P. Mangano following a months-long competition that initially involved four bidders. "By having The Madison Square Garden Company compete with us on this development demonstrates the significance of this project and both of our companies commitment to Long Island," said Bruce Ratner, executive chairman of Forest City Ratner Companies. "We are ready to get to work to deliver a world-class coliseum and a thriving sports, entertainment and retail centre that Long Island deserves." The announcement comes nearly a year after the coliseums primary tenant, the National Hockey Leagues New York Islanders, said the team would move from the coliseum to the new Barclays arena after the 2015 season. The plan still requires the approval of the Nassau County Legislature, but observers said it was likely the GOP majority in the legislature would go along with the Republican county executives selection. "While we are disappointed with the countys decision, we are not at all surprised given the history of this project, and will be watching closely as this process moves to the county legisllature," MSG said in a statement.dddddddddddd "We remain deeply supportive of the efforts to create a rich and vibrant destination for all Long Island residents, and sincerely hope that, regardless of todays decision, Long Island ultimately gets the world-class destination it deserves." Both Ratner, the developer behind the Barclays Center, and MSG have experience in running sports and entertainment arenas in the New York area. The finalists had engaged in high-profile television and print advertising campaigns while vying for the right to develop the property. A public session to discuss the proposals last spring featured an appearance by music mogul and hip-hop star Jay Z, whose company is affiliated with the Ratner group. Nassau County officials and others have been struggling to renovate the coliseum, built in 1972, for nearly a decade. In 2004, the Islanders billionaire owner, software executive Charles Wang, proposed a massive redevelopment of the property that would have included a soaring 60-foot office and condominium tower. That proposal failed to win either community or municipal support after residents expressed concerns about traffic and other issues. Two years ago, voters rejected a referendum backed by Mangano that would have allowed $400 million in borrowing for the construction of a new hockey arena and ballpark. Mangano stressed Thursday that the construction will be a "100 per cent privately financed" project that will "share revenue with the county at zero expense to the taxpayer." ' ' '
