CHICAGO -- To hear coach Joel Quenneville and captain Jonathan Toews talk about it, the Chicago Blackhawks are overcoming their early season jitters.But for a franchise thats won three Stanley Cups since 2010, they readily admit that theres still plenty of room for improvement.Chicago opens a three-game homestand Sunday night at the United Center against the Los Angeles Kings, who wrap up a two-game road trip in a building where they struggled in recent years.Nearly three weeks into the season, the Blackhawks penalty killing unit has been abysmal, allowing 15 goals in 30 short-handed situations to rank last in the league. The unit was third in the NHL as recently as the 2012-13 campaign, and finished in the top 20 each of the next two seasons before slumping to 22nd overall in 2015-16.I still think theres some areas we still got to feel that we can be better at look, and build on positives that weve achieved, Quenneville told the teams official website Saturday, one day after Chicago (4-3-1) rallied for a 3-2 overtime victory against New Jersey.
