LONDON -- Former Olympic hurdles great Edwin Moses has entered the race to become the next president of the World Anti-Doping Agency. The two-time Olympic gold medallist in the 400-meter hurdles submitted his candidacy last week, become the third -- and likely final -- contender for the job, the IOC said Tuesday. Also in the running are IOC vice-president Craig Reedie of Britain and former IOC medical director Patrick Schamasch of France. The 57-year-old Moses, who won gold medals at the 1976 and 1984 Olympics, has been active in the anti-doping movement since retiring from competition. He has been chairman of the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency since September 2012. Moses was the most dominant one-lap hurdler in the world for more than a decade, winning 122 consecutive races -- including 107 straight finals -- from 1977-87. His world record of 47.02 seconds stood from 1983 to 1992. Its the turn of the Olympic movement to nominate a successor to former Australian government minister John Fahey, who steps down as WADA president in November after six years in the job. The International Olympic Committee is sending a document summarizing its position on the anti-doping fight to the three candidates, who have until Aug. 7 to reply in writing. The IOC executive board will put forward one candidate for the WADA presidency at a meeting in Moscow on Aug. 9 on the eve of the world athletics championships. The nominee will then be put up for formal election at the World Conference on Doping in Sport in Johannesburg from Nov. 12-15. Reedie, who sits on the WADA executive committee, is considered the favourite. The election campaign comes at a time of increasing scrutiny on WADA, which was set up by the IOC in 1999 to lead the global anti-doping fight. The IOC and Olympic movement provide 50 per cent of WADAs annual budget, with governments paying the other half. The role of WADA has come under fire in recent months, with sports federations saying the organization is spending millions of dollars on drug-testing without catching the serious drug cheats. The IOC and federations have also insisted that WADA is a "service organization" created to support the sports bodies, not to criticize them and order them what to do. IOC President Jacques Rogge has called for more targeted, out-of-competition testing in high-profile sports. Former WADA President Dick Pound recently submitted a report detailing the ineffectiveness of the current drug-testing system. Despite increased testing and scientific advances to detect more sophisticated substances, Pound said drug cheats are getting away scot-free because of a lack of will among sports organizations, governments and athletes. The report cited statistics showing that, of 250,000 drug tests per year, less than 1 per cent produce positive findings for serious doping substances. 09:29ET 30-07-13 Yeezy 350 V2 GID Glow Pas Cher . NEW YORK -- Atlanta Braves interim manager Brian Snitker said his last-place club is approaching the final few weeks of the season as if it were fighting for a wild-card berth. The Braves look as though they might be ready to do some damage to the New York Mets actual National League wild-card run.Atlanta will aim for a second consecutive win over the Mets on Tuesday night, when the NL East rivals meet at Citi Field in the middle game of a three-game series. The Braves (59-91) earned an unlikely 7-3 victory Monday. Rookie right-hander Aaron Blair -- who entered 0-6 with an 8.23 ERA in 12 major league starts -- notched his first big league win with six solid innings. Meanwhile, Mets All-Star right-hander Noah Syndergaard was chased after giving up five runs in 3 2/3 innings. Its like were kind of fighting for (a) wild card, too, Snitker said of the Braves, who need to win at least four of their final 12 games to avoid the franchises first 100-loss season since 1988. Were not playing the games any less hard because were not playing for (a playoff spot). Were playing to win and putting it out there and leaving it out there every day.Despite the loss, the Mets (80-70) remain a game ahead of the San Francisco Giants and the St. Louis Cardinals in the race for the first NL wild card. The Giants blew a ninth-inning lead and lost to the Los Angeles Dodgers 2-1, while the Cardinals moved into a tie for the second wild card by beating the Colorado Rockies 5-3.Youre going to go into the playoffs looking at Noah Syndergaard as the guy that (has) got to pitch a big game, Metss manager Terry Collins said.dddddddddddd Just very surprising tonight (that) thats what happened. But if theres any game that weve played in a long time that demonstrates that theres no guarantees and no sure things in baseball, tonights the game.On Tuesday, the Braves should be the team with the pitching advantage as ace right-hander Julio Teheran (5-10, 3.18 ERA) opposes Mets rookie right-hander Robert Gsellman (2-1, 3.08 ERA). While Gsellman will be making just his fifth career start, Teheran is a two-time All-Star with three career shutouts under his belt, including a one-hit masterpiece against the Mets on June 19.We go out to win the game, you know what I mean? Snitker said. Well come out tomorrow and expect to win that game. Weve got Julio going, hes been pitching pretty good. The Mets hope Gsellman can be the one to flip the script on Tuesday. The long-haired 23-year-old, who had just nine starts at Triple-A Las Vegas prior to being recalled Aug. 23, has fared surprisingly since replacing injured left-hander Jonathon Niese in the rotation. Gsellman is 1-1 with a 3.57 ERA in four starts and has pitched into the sixth inning three times. On Sept. 9 at Atlanta, Gsellman allowed four runs on seven hits in five innings during a no-decision. That was his lone career appearance against the Braves.Teheran is 1-0 with a 0.78 ERA in three starts against the Mets this year, 6-3 with a 2.44 ERA in 14 career games (13 starts) vs. New York ' ' '
